Service Description

A great way for new parents to get breastfeeding off to a good start. Breastfeeding may be going well or there may be some struggles. You don't have to be having issues to schedule this consultation - think of it as a breastfeeding class with your baby in your arms! We can talk about newborn feeding cues, various breastfeeding positions and how to know your baby is getting enough milk, etc. OR Breastfeeding Difficulties - If you are having challenges or difficulties with breastfeeding please do not hesitate to schedule this consultation. A full medical history will be taken as well as an examination of the baby to address the issues occurring. If pumping is part of the care plan we will go over pump settings, parts and flange sizes. We will build a care plan together so you know exactly what to work on after the consult. Topics that may be touched upon include: - painful latch - clicking or slurping at the breast or bottle, - tongue/ lip ties, - gassy or fussy babies, - damaged or bleeding nipples - infant struggles with milk flow.
